To successfully complete the interior restoration of a historic space, a combination of rigorous investigation, historical research, and aesthetic planning are necessary. EverGreene Architectural Arts’ studio in midtown Manhattan has served as a focal point for some of the nation’s most prominent restoration projects. At EverGreene, a unique combination of artisans, conservators, designers and planners work under the same roof in collaboration.

This workshop will revolve around the question of how–given the myriad factors of accurately and successfully restoring a historic landmark–it is possible to maintain an exacting level of quality for every facet of the restoration. Addressing issues such as logistics and safety, preserving and restoring extant materials and finishes, the difficulties of on-site conservation, and completing a restoration while a space is still in use, this project will take place both in the EverGreene studio and also at the nearby site of a current EverGreene restoration project.

Agenda begins at 10:00 with registration and coffee.  Box lunch provided.

For directions and to register please call PNJ at 609-392-6409 or e-mail us at info@preservationnj.org for a brochure.
